Coober Pedy

Monday 11th June
The weather has improved out of sight, we are into shorts and short sleeved shirts, it can only get better!
Photos show the island in Island Lagoon (which is a salt lake) about 70km north of Glendambo, our first desert sunset and the arrival shot for Coober Pedy. All the hills around CP are not really hills but piles of refuse from the opal mining (mulloch heaps) a bit like a moonscape.
Our global positioning TomTom has died and needs to be sent back to the importers, so we have to go back to reading maps again. I was getting very used to being told where we are and how far we have to go to our destination.
Tomorrow we go on to Marla then into the Northern Territory. We hope to arrive in Alice Springs on Thursday where we will stay for four days.
