Hello from Alice

I forgot to mention while at Glendambo one of the contestants in the 4wd day was seen walking to the shower block covered head to foot in red mud, including his akubra. I went to the showers shortly after and could see this guy (he was big) over the top of the cubicle door and he was showering still wearing his akubra!!
The trip from Coober Pedy to Marla where we intended to stay was interesting as the scenery changed from low saltbush to red gibber like desert. We also began to see Eagles, one road kill had five in attendance.
At Marla ,as it was lunch time, we had a break and instead of checking into the park decided to go on to Kulgera, another 170km as this would give us a better break in Alice Springs.
Kulgera is a road stop but the small park was ok, facilities were old but clean. Being so far from everwhere the night was very quiet, as a result we are not having problems sleeping.
The 276km from Kulgera to Alice took four hours with a tea stop ar Erldunda which is the junction of the Stuart and Lassiter highways (road to Ayers rock) Shortly after we saw Desert Oaks and noticed that the sun reflected differently on each side of the road. On the left the Gibber was deep purple whilst on the right it threw a silver hue. The countryside really is amazing.
On arrival in Alice at 1pm we checked into the Mac Donnell park, great place big sites with our own bathroom. We are staying here for five nights so Monday should see us en route again for Darwin.
Weather is sunny but cold and a top of 15c today.
